ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Saturday questioned ex-finance minister Miftah Ismail on LNG terminal scam and handed over a questionnaire to him seeking reply within a week.
The NAB team questioned Miftah Ismail for one and half hours. According to NAB sources, Miftah Ismail was summoned in the capacity as former chairman SSGCL Board to appear before the combined investigation team. The questionnaire contains 30 questions and the former finance minister has been asked to submit reply by next Friday. The NAB sources said Miftah Ismail could be summoned again once he submits the replies to questionnaire and these replies are examined by the Bureau.
The NAB had launched investigation against former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the capacity of the minister for petroleum and natural resources during the tenure of the PML-N government along with other officials of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources for alleged misuse of power with respect to LNG terminal project.
