LAHORE A 40-year-old man committed suicide by jumping down from the moving train in the Ghaziabad area Sunday. As per eyewitnesses, a man, yet to be identified, suddenly jumped down from the moving train, resulting into his instant death. Police shifted the body to mortuary. SWINDLERS KILL MAN: A man lost his life at the hands of some unidentified swindlers in the Data Darbar area Sunday. The victim was identified as Sayam of Liaqatabad area. He had come to offer dua at the shrine when some unidentified swindlers served him some toxic substance, resulting into his death. Police shifted the body to morgue. DIES: A 10-year-old boy died under mysterious circumstances at his house in the Shalimar area Sunday. Sundas of Taizab Ahatta Misri Shah, took divorce from Aslam and married with one Farhan. She also took away her son Basit who was living with her in Multani Colony Shalimar. On the day of the incident, the boy fell down from the stairs and died. Aslam accused Sundas of killing his son. Police shifted the body to mortuary. SHO SHOOTS: Gulshan Iqbal Police Station SHO shot at and wounded a 9th class student Sunday. The injured boy identified as Umar Noor of Wahdat Colony was admitted to Jinnah Hospital where his condition was said to be out of danger. Umar and his friend were passing through Pathi Chowk when they overlooked a police picket and SHO Amjad Hussain opened fire, as a result of which, Umar received bullet wounds. The SHO also tried to register police encounter case against the boy. Later, the boy’s family staged a protest demonstration against the SHO and demanded his immediate arrest. Meanwhile, DIG operations took notice of the incident and suspended the SHO Amjad Hussain. ARRESTED: Punjab Highway Patrol arrested 60 criminals along with five proclaimed offenders. PHP arrested five proclaimed offenders, two absconders, two robbers and recovered a bike, Rs75,000 in cash, gold ornaments, and weapons from their possession. PHP arrested 42 criminals and recovered 133litre liquor, 1,585 grams chars, two rifles, four pistols, one gun, one stolen bike, 1,000maund wood, and 150litre unhygienic oil from their possession. PHP also arrested four kidnappers and five others on charges of using liquor. Meanwhile, Chuhng police arrested four robbers and recovered booty and weapons from their possession. The arrested robbers identified as Adnan, Ali, Shabbir and Babar Ali confessed to committing at least 55 such crimes in various parts of the city. DIG Operations announced cash prizes and appreciation certificates for the police team.
