A literary conference titled “The Role of writers in the building of a peaceful and educated society” concluded Tuesday.
At the end of the conference, Sufyana Kalam followed by Mushaira were presented where renowned literary figures and poets from all over Pakistan delivered excellent performance and the audience included guests, teachers, students, faculty members and representatives of media highly appreciated them.
In his concluding remarks, UMT Rector Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad laid emphasis that in order to fabricate literary elements within ourselves we have to recognise the reality of life and humanity. He said the power of the pen was still considered mightier than the sword because the pen always built a nation. He said that UMT in collaboration with academia and literary people would strive for the establishment of egalitarian society and would continue inviting them to different programmes. The last session was chaired by Chairman Pakistan Academy of Letters Dr Qasim Bhugio whereas Atta-ul-Haq Qasmi, Naimatullah Guchki, Intzar Hussain and Prof Muhammad Amin presented their literary articles.
