LNG truth

This refers to the article, ‘LNG – the whole truth’ (May 2) by Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. The openness displayed by the petroleum minister in the article is like a breath of fresh air. One really wishes that the government would also be this open and straightforward with regard to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
The minister has mentioned a number of facts and details. Unfortunately, he has left out a few important questions that are in everyone’s mind. With the current contract between PSO, Engro, SNGP and SSGP, what will be the end price of RLNG for users? Why has PSO been given the marketing percentage when there is no marketing required for RLNG? What was the percentage or rate given to PSO for marketing? What was the percentage or rate given to SNGP for using their network? If RLNG will be supplied to the power sector would the electricity rate come down? What will be the per unit cost of electricity?
