Whither CPEC?

With Karachi burning like Fata, with self-centred politicians divided over the situation of the terror-infested metropolis, with talk shows fuelling flames of confusion, with the nation sitting as a lame duck before marauding terrorists, with the political system divided over the basic structure of the constitution and with governance and foreign policy in a shambles, the country is slipping into disarray and decay of unmanageable proportions.
The prime minister is sitting smugly over a volcano that is about to erupt. In this devastating scenario the prospects of the China-funded CPEC turning Pakistan into an Asian Tiger look increasingly bleak. The time to fix Pakistan is running out.
