Shahbaz Sharif has termed the incident of collapse of roof of a primary school in Mujahid Abad, Dera Ghazi Khan highly tragic. He said that despite being the building of primary school in dilapidated condition, negligence was shown.
Addressing a high-level meeting through a video link, here Tuesday, he said a comprehensive survey regarding dangerous buildings of schools should be carried out and third party audit should be compulsory. As the building had been declared dilapidated children should have been shifted to other building, he said. Where was the monitoring system of Schools Education Department, he questioned.
He directed that the flaws in the system of inspection and monitoring of Schools Education Department should immediately be removed. He directed to constitute a task force headed by chief secretary and added that task force would submit recommendations regarding geo tagging of dangerous buildings of schools within seven days. Chairman Chief Minister’s Inspection Team presented an inquiry report about the roof collapse.
