Two children were killed and two others received injuries when a speeding car hit them in Nawab Town on Saturday.
The victims were identified as Auranzeb, 2, and Assad,3. The injured were admitted to the Jinnah Hospital. Police said that four children, including Auranzeb and Assad, were crossing a road at L-Block Johar Town when a rashly driven car hit them. As a result, all the four children sustained injuries. The injured were rushed to the Jinnah Hospital where Auranzeb and Assad were pronounced brought dead. Police arrested the car driver who was identified as Awais.
suspended: SSP Investigations Rana Ayyaz Salim suspended Incharge Investigations Lower Mall Inspector Muhammad Shafqat on the charges of faulty investigation and misbehaviour to a complainant of a rape-case on Saturday and order SP Investigations City to initiate a departmental inquiry.
Speaking on the occasion, the SSP said that a strict action would be taken against the sluggish and incompetent police officials who rather than helping the citizens adding their problem. Providing justice to the common man and solving his problems was the priority of the police, he concluded.
