The majority of students in the country – particular from poor and rural backgrounds – face difficulty in the selection of subjects because of lack of career counselling facilities.
In the absence of a clear direction, most students choose wrong subjects and after a while become disillusioned and quit their studies altogether. The government should open institutes where students can get career counselling.
