International moot starts at Bahria University

Higher Education Commission Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad said that there should be no doubt that youth are the future of Pakistan, a modern progressive Pakistan, free of prejudice and fear and bigotry.
Addressing the inaugural session of two-day International Conference on ‘Role of Universities in Building Global Citizens (RUBGC)’ held here on Wednesday at Bahria University, he said if you imbibe these values, you also become the future of this world because these are also the global values.
He said that it is time to empower students so they can realize their own potential and can contribute in a better integrated world. The conference is offering a platform for academicians, researchers, practitioners and students to learn and share knowledge. The conference is divided into different themes covering challenges and opportunities of a globalised curriculum, creating global values free of fear and prejudice, preparing students for the global workplace and technology. The conference was inaugurated with an opening speech by the DG Campus/Pro-Rector of BU, Rear Admiral (r) Saleem Akhtar. He expressed his gratitude to the chief guest for his presence in the ceremony. He said that the main objective of this conference is popularising the idea of global citizenship and providing a catalyst for transition to the era of nationalism to the idea of internationalism, which can help students to actively help shape their lives and the environment they live in.
