The Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) in collaboration with literary society ‘Sukhanwar’ organised a ‘Mehfil-e-Mushaira’ in connection with the death anniversary of the Poet of the East, Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Renowned poet Jalil Aali presided over while Aziz Qureshi from the US was chief guest and Dr. Najeeba Arif and President Tehreek Naujawanan-e-Pakistan Abdullah Gul were guests of honour on the occasion.
Poet Aftab Zia anchored the ‘Mushaira’. Wafa Chisti, Shagufta Habib and Abdul Qadeer recited the poetry of Dr Allama Iqbal. The poets who recited Allama Iqbal’s poetry were Aftab Zia, Iftikhar Khatak, Firdos Ayubi, Arshad Sulehri, Farhana Ali, Shakoor Ahsin, Gul Muhammad Nazik, Riffat Waheed, Munir Fayyaz, Sheda Chishti, Arshad Malik, Kaleem Ehsan Butt, Rasheed Saqi, Naseem- e-Saher, Jamil Yousaf, Aziz Qureshi and Jalil Aali.
