Inter-Regional Games kick off

PESHAWAR: Inter-Regional Youth Games arranged by Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Peshawar Uplift Programme kicked off here at Qayyum Sports Complex.
Arif Yousaf, special assistant to chief minister, was the chief guest. A former squash champion Qamar Zaman, Director Sports Tariq Mahmood, Secretary Archery Federation Wisal Muhammad, Secretary KP Olympic Association Zulfiqar Butt, Assistant Director Sports Azizullah and Secretary Provincial Wrestling Association Abdul Qayyum Shinwari were also present on the occasion.
The event includes wrestling, basketball and squash. Speaking on the occasion Arif Yousaf said the PTI led provincial government was taking practical measures to promote sports in the province. Earlier in basketball Swat defeated DI Khan by 44-23, Bannu outclassed Mardan Region by 51-34 and Peshawar overcome on Kohat by 47-38.
