LAHORE
Eight people received injuries when a roof of a house collapsed in the Sabzazar police limits on Monday.
Rescue teams reached the spot and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital.
Four of the injured were identified as Manzoor, 45, Usman, 10, Maryam, 12, and Shehzad 35. The house was in a dilapidated condition.
People of the area gathered the incident site and informed the rescue teams about the roof collapse. The victims were stated to be in a critical condition.
ACCIDENTS: At least 712 accidents were reported in Rescue 1122 Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours in which eight lives were lost and 596 seriously injured were shifted to different hospitals.
Some 276 minor injured were provided first aid by Rescue 1122 on the spot.
According to a data, 348 drivers, 22 underage drivers, 118 pedestrians and 414 passengers were among the injured.
The statistics show 170 accidents were reported in Lahore Control Room which affected 194 people placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 68 accidents in Faisalabad with 85 victims and Multan at third with 40 accidents and 43 victims.

Gulnaz was admitted to General Hospital two days ago when she received wounds after the pistol of her brother Muhammad Hussain went off accidently.
BODY FOUND: A man was found dead in the Tibbi City police limits. A passerby informed the police about the man lying unconscious. He was shifted to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
overcharging: The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) continued its drive against overcharging in the provincial metropolis by arresting 104 shopkeepers and imposing heavy fine on them on Tuesday.
Officials said the Price Control Magistrates raided 905 premises and booked 104 shopkeepers for overcharging out of whom 39 were sent to jail straight from the spot. The magistrates also imposed a fine of Rs 137,400 on the shopkeepers.
DCO Lahore Capt (R) Usman directed the magistrates to remain in the field and take strict action against those who were violating the price list.
CTO: City Traffic Police have registered 103 cases during a special campaign against wheelie doers in different police stations on Monday.
Chief Traffic Police Officer Tayyab Hafiz Cheema said that traffic police had started a special campaign against one-wheeling and organised awareness ceremonies in the city about one-wheeling.
