LAHORE
PTI Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhary strongly condemned Indian Border Security Force’s unprovoked shelling in Shakargarh sector. He also condemned the use of force by Indian security forces against protestors in Kashmir and expressed his deep concern over the arrest of Kashmiri freedom leaders. He said Kashmir was occupied by India but Kashmiris by their hearts were with Pakistan. He said Indian aggression was a more distraction for Pakistan’s armed forces engaged in a relentless counter-terrorism operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Secretary General Yasmin said Pakistan had all the right to raise the Kashmir issue and the nation would keep raising the Kashmir issue till they were given their rights. She said the UN seemed to be biased on Kashmir issue as the UN Security Council resolutions had the legitimacy of the international contract and accepted by both India and Pakistan before the international community. Denying the people of Kashmir what had been pledged to them by the UN would be a violation of its own resolution, she added. She said the issue had to be settled as per UN resolution that was Kashmir plebiscite or as per the aspirations of Kashmiri people.
Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas in the statement also said the murder, torture and maiming of Kashmiris under Indian occupation was not acceptable.
She said the lasting peace could not be achieved in the region until the Kashmir issue was solved. She questioned what stopped India from implementing the UN resolution? She said let the people of Kashmir decide in an impartial environment what they wanted.
