LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has expressed optimism that the visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping would prove to be an economic booster, a statement said on Monday.
While talking to a Chinese delegation led by Yu Xiao, Director General, Qinghai Provincial Commerce Department at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the LCCI President Ijaz A. Mumtaz said China has played a significant role in economic development of Pakistan and the agreements worth billions of dollars would help Pakistan to overcome its economic ills.
A number of topics of mutual interest came under discussion and both sides pledged to play their due role to strengthen the economic ties between the two countries.
He said the visit of Chinese delegates from Qinghai province indicates that Chinese business community is focusing Pakistan in general and Punjab in particular for strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations.
The LCCI President invited the Chinese investors to exploit the vast untapped potential of Punjab. “We need to forecast the upcoming potential of business opportunities which will emerge after the completion of Gwadar Port,” he added.
