PESHAWAR: Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Prof Hafiz Muhammad Saeed on Sunday asked the Ummah to unite for the protection of the Holy places in Saudi Arabia and foil the conspiracies against Islam and the Muslims states.
Speaking at the ‘Tahaffuze Haramain Sharifain Conference’ here, he said the ongoing war in Yemen was a conspiracy by the enemies of Islam aimed at destabilising the Muslim states.
“The Yemen crisis is being portrayed as a sectarian clash and war between Saudi Arabia and Iran to mislead the Muslims and pitch them against each others,” he said. “Actually, it is a conspiracy by the Jews and the United States to divide the Muslims,” he maintained.
Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said the basic objectives of the conference arranged by the JuD was to create awareness and inform the people about the issue which is neither a Shia-Sunni conflict nor a proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran but a conspiracy to divide the Muslims.
He said the Houthi rebels were acting upon the agenda of the Jews and US while Saudi Arbia and its allies were fighting for the restoration of peace and legitimate government in Yemen. The JuD head said the rebel leader, Abdul Malik Houthi, had clearly stated that they want to occupy Makkah and Madina. Following this, he added, Saudi Arabia consulted its allies and launched an action against Houthis in Yemen.
Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said it was a test case for the rulers and political parties to understand sensitivity of the issue and support the Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states in the struggle for restoration of legitimate government and peace in Yemen and protection of the Holy land.
He said the prime minister should brief the political leaders on the actual situation and persuade them for taking a right and timely decision as Pakistan position was too vital. How Pakistan could remain natural in this crisis, he wondered.
The JuD chief alleged the US and Jews were behind the crisis not only in Yemen but also they were destabilising Syria, Iraq, Jordan and other states bordering Saudi Arabia. “The US is also behind terrorism in Pakistan as it wants to avenge its failure in Afghanistan despite having an alliance of 40 countries,” he added.
Lauding the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Hafiz Saeed said due to their sacrifices two superpowers were defeated in the neighbouring Afghanistan.Referring to Iran stand in the Yemen crisis, he said those holding the US and Jews responsible for the wars and global conspiracies were signing agreements and said those not joining the Ummah at this critical juncture would remain out of the Muslims unity forever.
The JuD leader hoped Pakistan would not only emerge as defence centre but an economic hub of the Muslim states. He said the situation was changing and the Muslims throughout the world had understood the real situation that’s why they were supporting the Saudi Arabia and other allied Gulf states on the Yemen issue.
Earlier in his speech, Hafiz Abdur Rahman Makki said the US and Jews were involved in conspiracies against Muslims, be it Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq and other Arab states or Pakistan. He dubbed Houthi rebels as agents of the Jews.
Criticising the Parliament resolution over Yemen, he said it was astonishing to say that Saudi Arabia would be supported in case of any danger to its territorial integrity. He said Saudi Arabia always supported Pakistan in difficult times and stood by it like a brotherly state.
Sheikh Hamdullah, Maqsood Salafi, provincial general secretary Jamiat Ahle Hadith Masood Azhar Group, Syed Aqil Shah of the Awami National Party, Jamaat-e-Islami provincial chief Prof Muhammad Ibrahim, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Mian Muhammad Akhtar and Zafar, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Member Provincial Assembly Arif Yousaf, JuD leader Atiqur Rahman Chohan , Maulana Saifullah Khalid and Maulana Nasar Javed also addressed the conference held near Fawwara Chowk.
