NBP overwhelmed Balochistan 9-0, WAPDA defeated Sindh 5-0, PEB blanked Gilgit-Baltistan 4-0 and Punjab-A beat Army 4-1. The bankers outclassed Balochsitan in every department of the game

KARACHI: NBP, WAPDA, PEB and Punjab-A recorded comfortable wins in the Under-20 National championship at the Hockey Club of Pakistan here on Saturday.
NBP overwhelmed Balochistan 9-0, WAPDA defeated Sindh 5-0, PEB blanked Gilgit-Baltistan 4-0 and Punjab-A beat Army 4-1.
The bankers outclassed Balochsitan in every department of the game in the opening match of the day. Mubashir Ali struck goals on penalty corners in 15th, 21st and 54th minutes.
Shan Arshad scored in 14th and 23rd minutes and Aamir Ali in 48th and 51st minutes. Atiq Arshad and Raheel struck field goals in 52nd and 59th minutes.
Two goals each by Shahbaz and Mateen helped WAPDA beat Sindh in the second match.
Shahbaz struck in the 9th minute and converted a penalty corner in the 21st minute.
Mateen scored two goals on penalty corners in 41st and 46th minutes. In the 60th minute Sohail Anjum scored the fifth goal for WAPDA.
Debutants Gilgit-Baltistan fought hard against PEB, but failed to score. PEB’s Aamir Farooq, Mohammad Murtaza and Shahbaz scored field goals in 7th, 9th and 45th, respectively. Mohammed Sufyan struck a goal on a penalty stroke in the 50th minute.
Punjab’s Mudassar (17th min), Ahmed Nadeem (29th min) and Asif Ali (52nd min) scored field goals against Army. Mohammed Ahad struck a penalty corner in the 55th minute. Army scored one through Mohammed Afzal in the 50th minute.
