Nuclear disarmament

This refers to the news report, ‘Pakistan urges equal security rights for all nations’ (April 9). The South Asian region has overly become volatile. The Pakistani stance towards efforts at disarmament and equal security for all states is commendable and should be given importance at international forums.
Not only is the disarmament of nuclear states necessary for a safe and secure world but the reduction of conventional weapons is also needed. Pakistan’s concern over growing weaponisation and the need for security of non-nuclear weapon states shows that it is a responsible state.
