Rawalpindi: The residents of GHQ Colony Samarzar, Adiala Road, have appealed to Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar to take notice of the high handedness of Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) for making people suffer for the past 32 hours. They claimed that Iesco officials are not repairing their area transformer citing it was privately installed and they have nothing to do with it.
Talking to ‘The News’, Zeeshan Bangash, a resident of the area claimed that when he lodged a complaint with Additional SDO Mohammad Khawar, he told him that the transformer has been installed privately and Iesco could not take action on it. “However, Mohammad Khawar suggested that we should take the transformer to Iesco Workshop in Rawat and submit its repair cost which is around Rs50,000. Now my appeal to CJ is to ask Iesco authorities as why they are giving further connections when our transformer could not bear the load and whenever it goes out of order the area people have to pay the repairs,” asked a disgruntled Bangash.
He said that since past 32 hours we are facing severe fluctuations and we could not use a fan and are suffering without electricity.
Zeeshan Bangash also pointed out that Additional SDO also suggested that a new application for installation of a heavier capacity transformer in our colony should be submitted. “A demand note will be issued by Iesco and after submission of the due amount our area will get a new transformer and all our problems will be addressed,” he claimed.
When ‘The News’ contacted Additional Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Adiala Muhammad Khawar he said that transformer of GHQ Colony Samarzar has been installed by some private people, and they could not do anything about it.
