Crackdown on violators of ECP code of conduct

Following the directions of Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Dr Syed Kaleem Imam, a crackdown on the violators of Election Commission of Pakistan’s code of conduct in all the districts is going on.
In the last three days, 110 cases were registered against 583 workers of different political parties.
Likewise, 59 cases and 103 qalandras were registered under Goonda Act and 104 people were arrested, whereas, 242 cases and 407 qalandras were registered and 380 accused arrested under Habitual Offender Act in the last three days.
The IG also directed the police to utilise all available resources to ensure safety to the political representative, polling processions, corner meetings and other political gatherings.
