RENOWNED writer and Deputy District Officer Roads, City District Government Lahore Mian Mohammad Latif Akhtar’s historic book on Lahore, Sharaqpur and Syed Wala ‘Ravi Kinarey’ was launched at Alhamra Arts Council Tuesday.
Former Khateeb of Data Durbar Mosque Allama Mohammad Maqsood Ahmed Qadri Chishti was the chief guest on this occasion. The book describes historic, cultural and civic history of the three cities with complete history of River Ravi, its topography and floods.
On the banks of the River Ravi, the renowned Muslim saints like Hazrat Ali Hajveri, Hazrat Mian Sher Mohammad Sharaqpur Sharif and Hazrat Baba Alif Shah Bokhari started the preaching of Islam.
The book also gives details about the old City of Lahore, Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque and the historic doors of Lahore city. The chief guest spoke about Lahore City, River Ravi and Hazrat Ali Hajveri.
