Islam in danger from Soviet communism: Zia-ul-Haq; Islam is under threat from American capitalism: TTP. The present rulers who never uttered a word against Zia are heading a government engaged in the fight against terrorism – the proven legacy of the dictator – but have placed the indispensable psychological war against extremism on the backburner.
I congratulate the government on shedding the heavy extra baggage of the past – at least partially. Perhaps in due course of time the rulers will include the war on extremism in a comprehensive package as well. History places fighting causes above battling effects.
