Pak-Afghan border officials exchange Eid greetings
LANDIKOTAL: Pakistan and Afghan border officials exchanged Eid greetings and sweets at Torkham border. The border officials of both the countries warmly met at Torkham border and exchanged gifts and Eid greetings.
The Pakistani side was led by Commandant of Khyber Rifles Col Farrukh Humayun and Col Mubashir while Col Muhammad Siddique led the Afghan side.
The Afghan officials thanked Pakistani counterparts for their goodwill gesture. They discussed briefly the border related issues and agreed to coordinate and cooperate with each other for peace and stability in the region.
Meanwhile, the officials of the Pakistan Army and Afghan security forces on Monday held a flag meeting in Baizai tehsil in Mohmand Agency.
Lt-Col Muhammad Akbar led the Pakistani side while post commander Sher Wali represented Afghan delegation at the meeting. The Pakistan Army officials extended Eid greetings to their Afghan counterparts and presented sweets and gifts to them.
Lt-Col Muhammad Akbar said Pakistan had always fostered friendly and brotherly relations with Afghanistan. He said that Pakistan and Afghanistan were brotherly countries and they would cooperate to establish peace in the region as it was in the interest of both the neighbours.
