PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkwa Thursday arrested four persons, including a doctor, for alleged involvement in illegal sale of plots allotted to TB Association.
Through a statement, Deputy Director of NAB KP Saadullah Khan Mahsud said that during investigation it surfaced that two plots comprising four kanals and five marlas and five kanals and eight marlas were allotted to Tuberculosis (TB) Association on concessional rates.
He said that the plots were sallotted on the condition that the property would not be put to any use other than that for which its transfer had been sanctioned.The official said that one plot was supposed to be used as clinic while other plot was to be allotted for rehabilitation of the TB patients.
He said that president TB Association Dr Iqbal Safi, Shahzad Zahoor advocate Peshawar, property dealer Fakhruddin and senior vice-president Riaz Ahmad, utilised one plot for clinic while vocational centre and marriage hall were built on another plot.“Later, one plot was sold illegally by the TB Association,” he said, adding that the accused would be produced in the Accountability Court for physical remand.
