SMIU hails services of late Justice Bhagwandas

The Sindh Madressatual Islam University on Thursday paid tribute to the late Justice (Retd) Rana Bhagwandas for his services to the country’s judiciary and for serving the SMIU as a member of its selection board.
A resolution was passed during the university’s syndicate meeting on Thursday stating, “Rana Bhagwandas attended all 28 days sessions for the 12 meetings of the selection board, without being absent for even a single day or coming late. He thoroughly examined each and every candidate giving him or her full opportunity to bring forth his potential.”
The session, presided over by Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh, approved minutes of selection board meeting held from January 5-6, which was also attended by Bhagwandas. The jurist left this world on February 23, 2015.
The minutes of sixth syndicate meeting held on December 20, 2014 were also approved during the meeting and the syndicate expressed its satisfaction over the actions taken in view of the decisions made in the previous meeting.
The report regarding admissions for academic session 2014-15 was also presented in the meeting and received satisfactory feedback from the members.
The progress report regarding construction work of the SMI University building at the education city campus was also presented in the meeting.
