PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have rounded up 473 suspects and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition in the ongoing search and strike operation being conducted throughout the province under the National Action Plan.
The police conducted raids in different parts of the province and recovered 35 arms and ammunition of different kinds and 350 rounds of different bores. Up to 460 houses and 279 hotels were checked and seven cases registered against the violators.
During snap checking on 158 checkpoints, 316 suspects were held and 16 arms of different kinds and 232 cartridges of different bores were recovered. During action against illegal Afghans, a total of 49 persons were detained on violation and 27 cases were registered against them.Similarly, Security inspections of 971 educational institutions were also carried out and various institutions were advised to further beef up security arrangements.
NOWSHERA: The police claimed to have arrested four robbers and recovered looted valuables from them in the Pabbi tehsil on Tuesday night. DPO Rabnawaz Khan said that Shehryar Khan reported to the police that he was on his way to Zakhi village from Khushmuqam at night when four masked armed men robbed him. Acting promptly, the police party arrested the robbers identified as Asmatullah, Hazrat Umar, Roohul Amin and Sulaiman.
