Retired PIA employees have yet to get their full/normal pension despite the completion of their commutation period. In addition, they have not been given any increment over the years. In the case of retired civil/armed forces servants, they not only get their pension restored automatically after the completion of their commutation period but they also get annual increments in almost every budget.
Recently, the PIA management has levied Rs5,000 tax on every rebated ticket. This is an additional burden on the pensioners. It is suggested that PIA pensioners should be exempted from this new tax or any other tax in the future.
