PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority has sealed two more fake cold drink factories in Dagai village in Pabbi town in Nowshera district.
Attaullah Khan, a spokesperson for the authority, said that the food authority team along with female staff raided the factories after receiving complaints from public. He said the factories faked all kinds of national and international brands.
The official said the food authority broke open the gate of the factory with the help of the local police to enter its premises. "Filled tanks of all brands of cold drinks were discarded and the machinery was handed over to local police," he added.
He further said that more than 15,000 litres of chemically prepared fake drinks of various brands were discarded and the owners handed over to the police. Attaullah said the factories were sealed under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Act 2014. The spokesperson said that Mardan Deputy Commissioner Usman Mahsud sent a dealer behind bars under 3 MPO for selling substandard Indian meat.
