PM inaugurates M-3 section tomorrow

TOBA TEK SINGH: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi would inaugurate Lahore-Abdul Hakeem section of Peshawar-Lahore-Karachi Motorway (M-3) at Rajana interchange tomorrow.

Under the new schedule of the PM, he would not go to Toba for inauguration of M-4 (Toba-Gojra portion). The PM would also inaugurate the Gojra-Toba section of M-4 in the same ceremony that would be arranged at Rajana.

LAWYERS OBSERVE STRIKE: Lawyers of the District Bar Association Saturday observed a strike condemning a murderous attack on senior lawyer Chaudhry Muhammad Amin. DBA president Raja Khalid Mahmood said after the passage of more than 24 hours the city police had not registered the case.

Advocate Amin was on his way to Chak 152/GB Bhindian from the district courts when two unidentified assailants intercepted him on a link road of Chak 328/JB and fired at him. He was referred by DHQ hospital doctors to Faisalabad Allied Hospital in a critical condition. When contacted, an official of the city police said sub-inspector Muhammad Atif was at Faisalabad to record the statement of the lawyer and his relatives had sought more time to file the application.

ASSUMES CHARGE: Prof Shahnaz Alvi of Toba Tek Singh Saturday assumed the charge of Controller of Examinations of the Faisalabad Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. She was a lecturer at Toba Government Women College and also served as the deputy director (Colleges). This is for the first time when a woman had been posted as controller for examinations of a Board.

SEVEN OF A FAMILY FAINT: Seven members of a family of Bhagoana locality of Kamalia fainted on Saturday after eating rotten curry during Sehr time.

Muhammad Mansha, his wife and their five children were rushed to the THQ Hospital, Kamalia where their condition was stated to be stable.
