Mutalib’s fifty sinks Go Petroleum in Dr MA Shah Trophy
KARACHI: Abdul Mutalib hit a solid fifty to enable Lahore’s Mujahid Gymkhana to overwhelm Lahore’s Go Petroleum by five wickets in their match of the 23rd Dr MA Shah Trophy here at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium on Saturday.
Mutalib’s unbeaten 56 off 32 balls helped Mujahid Gymkhana achieve the 140-run target in the 15th over after losing five wickets in the process.
Mutalib’s match-winning knock included four fours and three sixes. Rana Arslan chipped in with 18-ball 39 with five fours and one six. Left-arm pacer Saeed-ur-Rehman was the pick of the bowlers with 3-14.
After opting to bat first, Go Petroleum posted 139-8 in the allotted 20 overs. Waseem Khan smacked 26 with two sixes and one four. Mohammad Ansar struck 21 with three fours. Right-arm off-spinner Mohammad Nadeem got 2-16, while left-arm leg-spinner Waqas Afzal claimed 2-19. Mohammad Azhar and Mohammad Rehan supervised the match.
