PESHAWAR: A tribal elder and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Hazrat Nabi asked the Chief Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to announce holding of election in the National Assembly (NA-38) constituency in the central Kurram Agency at the earliest.
Talking to The News here on Monday, Hazrat Nabi said, “It’s the bad luck of the tribesmen of the central Kurram Agency who have not elected their representative so far.”He said that like other tribal areas, the central Kurram Agency was also underdeveloped due to worst condition of education, healthcare, drinking water and infrastructure.
He alleged that in the past the elected members deliberately ignored the development of the area and were involved in minting money. He maintained that the tribesmen were found on the back foot in every walk of life due to their incompetent representatives in the National Assembly.
Expressing his dismay, Hazrat Nabi said that that the candidates and other tribal elders held a few meetings with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) about holding of the election but to no avail.
He said that former candidates misguided the chairman and secretary ECP that the situation was not favourable for the election as they were afraid of his victory and popularity in the area.
