Nadeem scores century to help Tapal CC record big win

KARACHI: Opener Nadeem Javed’s unbeaten century enabled Tapal Cricket Club to overpower Momin Seed Cricket Club by 40 runs in their Group A encounter of Karachi Gymkhana Ramadan Festival Twenty20 here at the KG Cricket Ground on Thursday.

Batting first after winning the toss, Tapal CC installed an imposing total of 184 for eight, which was made possible by Nadeem who remained undefeated on 100 off 63 balls. He struck six sixes and four fours. He was declared Man of the Match.

Zakir Munir (31 off 17 balls) and Hafiz Asad (30 off 22 balls) also scored briskly for Tapal CC. Left-arm spinners Abdul Qayyum (3-24) and Ubaidullah (2-30) brought about a middle order collapse.

Momin Seed CC were given a flying start by openers Jamal Khan (40 off 30 balls) and Muhammad Shiraz (39 off 38 balls). They scored 75 in nine overs. But Momin Seed CC lost their way once the partnership was broken. Off-spinner Daniyal Rajput (3-24) restricted them to 144 for six in 20 overs.
