LAHORE: The Pakistan Regional Economic Integration Activity (PREIA)’s project under USAID aims at encouraging gender mainstreaming and greater women contribution in Pakistan’s trade promotion and facilitation, while endeavouring to improve business enabling environment in the country.
This was stated by Human and Institutional Capacity Development Adviser of the USAID PREIA project Tayyaba Batool and Faisal Butt, Public Private Collaboration Adviser, during a presentation to the Trade Development Authority Pakistan (TDAP) Lahore.
The USAID PREIA project has launched the Women Leadership in Trade Policy (WTLP) programme, which will enable potential leaders from private and public sectors to develop themselves as advocates for gender inclusive trade policy making.
The presentation resulted in a robust discussion regarding the ways in which government and allied organisations can improve policy making and service delivery to cater to a more gender inclusive business environment.
