Toba mosque attack case registered
TOBA TEK SINGH: Rajana police have failed to arrest the attackers who had shot dead two people and injured seven others in a mosque at Chak 359/GB over the dispute of appointment of a prayer leader.
Police said the accused persons fled the scene along with their families after locking their houses, however, the police parties were conducting raids to arrest them. Police on Wednesday registered a case against six persons who had shot dead two people in the mosque on Tuesday evening and seriously injured seven others at Maghrib prayer.
The accused nominated in the FIR, included Arshad Awan, Usman Awan, Naveed, Mansha, Haider and Allah Ditta. Meanwhile, the condition of two injured Ali Hasan and M Abid, who were referred to Allied Hospital, Faisalabad were still critical. A larger number of people attended the funeral prayer of both victims M Nawaz Gujjar and his father Abad Ali Gujjar.
LAWYERS TO GET FREE TREATMENT AT PUBLIC HOSPITALS: Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department has directed all the medical superintendents of DHQ and THQ hospitals, which are under the control of the department, in the province to provide free treatment to all practicing lawyers and their dependents. In a circular addressing the medical superintendents of the government hospitals on Wednesday, the lawyers will produce the Punjab Bar Council membership cards in the hospitals to avail the facility.
