Health ministry launches e-office system
Islamabad: The Ministry of Health Wednesday launched its E-office initiative with the minister for health sending the first e-file though custom-built software.
“Information Technology is indeed a panacea for all ills of governance. Keeping this slogan in mind, the Vision 2025 of this government envisages shifting of all governmental offices into E-offices. Today, we at the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with NITB, have launched the E-office system, which will not only ensure efficiency and transparency but also maintainability of secrecy and easy access to record,” Saira Afzal stated on the occasion. She asked the ministry's higher officers to keep it going with full vigor.
Secretary Health expressed his ambition to make this project successful and expeditious. He appreciated the efforts of NITB team as well as ministry's officials under the supervision of Additional Secretary for making this possible in such a short span of time.
Literary session: The National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage, popularly known as Lok Virsa, will hold a literary session, Muzakra, tomorrow (Friday) on the benefits and learning of age-old value support system in rural Punjab.
According to the organisers, Dr Hafeezul Rehman, former chairman of the Anthropology Department at the Quaid-i-Azam University, and Dr. Majid Khan, a noted social scientist, will tell the audience about the traditional value support system in rural Punjab and why it has gradually become ineffective.
They will also highlight other aspects of the subject. The session will be attended by social sciences and anthropology students and researchers.
APP adds: The meeting of Board of Directors of Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi was held here on Wednesday.
The meeting was chaired by PHA Chairman Malik Ibrar Ahmed and attended by Mayor Rawalpindi Sardar Naseem Ahmed Khan, Director General PHA Capt (r) Anwar ul Haq and the members of the board of directors.
The board members appreciated efforts of PHA for beautification of the city. PHA chairman informed the meeting that solid steps are being taken for the beautification of the parks of the city while new parks have also been constructed including Shehbaz Sharif Park at Rawal Road.
He said, the Parks and Horticulture Authority is striving hard to further enhance beauty of the city and steps are being taken for the horticulture designing and landscaping on city roads. The Parks and Horticulture Authority is trying to provide citizens with a cleaner, greener and socially enriched healthy environment, he added. The Board approved rates of PHA outdoor advertisements, amendment in PHA outdoor advertisement regulation, beautification of pillars of Metro Bus Route and other agenda items.
