Ombudsman orders KDA official’s arrest
The Sindh ombudsman (Mohtasib) has ordered the senior superintendent of police, District East, Karachi, to arrest Raza Qaimkhani, director of anti-encroachment), Karachi Development Authority (KDA), said a handout issued on Monday.
The SSP East has also been told to present the KDA official before the provincial ombudsman office at 1300 hours on May 24. The orders were said to be issued after the relevant official’s failure to comply with the ombudsman’s directives to ensure his presence at the hearing against him fixed for May 14.
The director for anti-encroachment of the KDA failed to show up at the hearing without intimation or a reasonable cause, added the handout. A process was said to have been initiated by the provincial ombudsman to investigate complaints against the official, who, however, failed to cooperate with the office.
