Rain destroys standing crops

LANDIKOTAL: Heavy downpour and hailstorm destroyed standing crops in upper areas of Landikotal and Jamrud tehsils of Khyber Agency on Saturday. Haji Akbar Afridi, a resident of Chora area of Jamrud tehsil, told The News by phone that heavy rain and hailstorm started around 5pm.
He said standing wheat crops were completely destroyed while floods washed away their roads in the village. Reports from Loey and Kam Shalman also said that many pets have been washed away by the rain water in the hilly areas.
