LAHORE: Islamabad Police have rescued an Italian teenage girl of Pakistan origin from the custody of her parents, who had forced her to abort the child of an Italian boy in a private clinic the other day.

Sources in Italian embassy told The News that the girl is now in the safe hands. The victim Farah, a resident of Verona in Italy, was lured by her parent to visit Pakistan to attend a wedding in January this year.

On Friday, her parents took her to a private clinic for abortion and allegedly tied her up for 8 hours. She, on getting a chance, sent a WhatsApp message to her fiancé and a classmate, who informed the police in Italy. The police informed Pakistan’s foreign ministry about the incident.

The consulate in Pakistan, on getting information about the mishap, informed the police, which raided the clinic and recovered the girl.

"The foreign ministry and the embassy in Islamabad are following the case closely and working to facilitate her return to Italy, to Verona.”

Recently, in another incident, one Sana Cheema of Italy was allegedly killed by her parents in Gujrat a couple of weeks ago. The political leaders in Italy are concerned about such incidents occurring in Pakistan.
