Youth engagement urged for peace-building

KOHAT: Speakers at a seminar have called for engaging youth in the healthy activities to enable them to play a vital role in the peace-building.

The one-day seminar titled ‘’Youth Engagement in Peace-building and National Integration in the Light of Paigham-e-Pakistan’’ was organised by the Fata University at Darra Adamkhel, Frontier Region Kohat.

Collaboration was struck with the Islamic Research Institute, Islamic International University, Islamabad.

The seminar was attended by the faculty, staff and students of Fata University, teachers and students of boys’ and girls’ colleges, the government officials, local elders and the religious scholars from Darra Adamkhel area.

The scholars, including Dr Ziaul Haq and Dr Aftab Ahmad from Islamic International University, Islamabad, Delawar Khan, Nasim Achakzai from University of Lahore and Maulana Shafiullah, Khateeb, Jamia Masjid Kohat, spoke about the aims and objectives of the Paigham-e-Pakistan.

They said we should mold our lives as per Islamic teachings and constitution of Pakistan and should have collective efforts with mutual consensus to safeguard the nation against divisiveness.

The chief guest Qaiser Jamal Afridi, Member National Assembly (NA-47) and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr M Tahir Shah, spoke on the occasion. They applauded the organisers for arranging the seminar at the Fata University.

A MoU was also signed between the Fata University and the University of Lahore on the occasion.
