Four suspected gangsters were killed in two separate encounters with police on Saturday.
Police said they conducted a raid at a hideout of the Baba Ladla gang in Juna Marketarea of Kharadar in the wee hours of the day and in the ensuing shootout, injured two gangsters while the others managed to escape.
The injured men, Dil Jaan Baloch and Anees Ibrahim, were taken to the Civil hospital where they expired. The police seized two TT pistols and a motorcycle in the raid.
The police said the two men were wanted in many cases of murder, extortion and kidnapping for ransom cases.
Lyari shootout
Two other alleged gangsters were gunned down by police in Lyari. Chakiwara SHO Safdar Mashwani said the police conducted a raid a hideout of the Shiraz Comrade gang in Rangiwara, Chakiwara in the wee hours of the day.
A gun battle between the police and the gangsters followed. Two gangsters were shot dead in the shootout.
Their bodies were shifted to Civil hospital. The police found two TT pistols, two grenades on the bodies. They also found a stolen motorcycle at the hideout.
The two gangsters were identified as Salman alias Salim and Arsalan alias Bhulo. They were wanted by the police for several murders including that of Baghdadi investigation branch sub-inspector Rafee. They were also wanted in kidnapping for ransom and extortion cases.
Body found
The body of a man in his early 40s was discovered on the fourth floor of an apartment building in Defence Phase VI. Te man had been stabbed to death.
Darakhshan police identified the man as Naeemuddin, son of Jamaluddin, who belonged to Sukkur, and said the man had been stabbed in the chest and abdomen multiple times.
