Master conservation plan of Walled City discussed

LAHORE: The 5th meeting of Heritage Conservation Board (HCB) of the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) was held here on Thursday at the head office of WCLA.

The meeting was chaired by HCB Chairman Mian Yousaf Sallah-ud-Din. The meeting discussed the agenda of Master Conservation Plan of the Walled City, documentation and investigative test pits in Lahore Fort’s Summer Palace and Sheesh Mahal which would lead to the conservation of both the monuments and the erection of portraits and painting of Mughal, Sikh and British eras inside the Lahore Fort as tourist attraction.

Director General of Walled City of Lahore Authority said the HCB meeting had appreciated the work done on Master Conservation Plan of WCLA and now it will be presented to the chairman of authority for final approval.

Director General of WCLA Kamran Lashari, Heritage Conservation Board Vice-Chairman Sajjad Kausar, Salima Hashmi, Faqir Saif, Punjab Archeology Department Deputy Director Masood Ahmed, Aga Khan Trust Culture Conservationist Masood Ahmed Khan, Rashid Makhdum, Conservation and Planning Director Najam Saqib, Marketing & Social Mobilization Director Asif Zaheer, Director Administration Shahid Nadeem, Azeem Dad and Mubashar Hassan were also present on the occasion.
