The federal government should take appropriate measures to ensure that there is no loadshedding during sehri, iftar and taraweeh prayers timings. This will provide some relief to people during the holy month of Ramazan. It is understandable that the authorities require some time to resolve the problem of energy shortfall. However, the Ministry of Water and Power should take steps to provide some relief to those observing fast.
Yesterday (May 17) marked the first day of Ramazan. And it was unfortunate that some parts of the city were covered in darkness during sehri, with power supply being disrupted for at least three hours. The higher authorities should look into this matter and realise that uninterrupted electricity during sehri, iftar and taraweeh time is the basic need of people.
