I work at PIDC House situated on Dr Ziauddin Ahmad Road, Karachi. Our vehicle parking is in front of Karachi Club, which is almost half a kilometre away from the office. We use the footpath along PIDC Road to reach the office. Unfortunately, the footpath is being encroached upon. This has made our lives miserable. Barricades have been placed on the footpath in front of the Sindh Assembly, and on the opposite side of the road all motorcycles are being parked on the footpath.
A housing society is currently constructing a high-rise building in the area and half of the footpath in front of the building is covered with debris. Footpaths are for pedestrians to walk on. The authorities concerned are requested to look into the matter.
