Two men found dead

LAHORE : Two men were found dead in various parts of the city on Saturday.

A 40-year-old man and and a 22-year-old youth, identified as Akram Shahzad, were found dead in the areas of Gulshan Ravi and Gawalmandi police, respectively. The bodies have been removed to morgue.

Woman dies: A 40-year-old woman expired in a hospital on Saturday, a few hours after she suffered a heart attack at Lorri Adda.

The deceased woman, identified as Anwar Bibi, hailed from Rawalpindi. The body has been removed to morgue.

Rescuers: The passing-out ceremony of the 106 rescuers from Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir was held at the Emergency Services Academy here on Saturday.

Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Advocate Aurangzeb Khan, Punjab Minister for Trade and Industries Shaikh Allauddin, Punjab Emergency Services Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer, Rescue 1122 Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Khalid Mehmood Mirza, Rescue 1122 Gilgit-Baltistan Director General Dr Sher Aziz, faculty of the Emergency Services Academy and a large number of rescuers, their parents and friends attended the ceremony.

As many as 106 rescuers, 84 from Gilgit-Baltistan and 22 from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, completed their professional training at the Emergency Services Academy here.

Punjab Minister Shaikh Allauddin announced the regularisation of all the contract employees of Punjab Emergency Service/Rescue 1122 besides getting restored risk allowance for the employees at the earliest. He said Punjab would continue assisting other provinces beyond politics for the national cause of serving the humanity.

Aurangzeb Khan said that rescuers were the brave sons of the soil who put their lives in danger to save the lives of others. He praised Punjab Emergency Service DG Dr Rizwan Naseer and his team for making continuous struggle towards ensuring a safer Pakistan.

He appreciated the Punjab government for providing free-of-cost professional training of emergency management and technical assistance for replication of the lifesaving service in the hilly northern areas of the country.
