Save electricity
This refers to the letter ‘Power woes’ (May 7) by Erum Rashid. KE would like to state that Karachi is facing an additional shortfall of 200 MW due to the fault that has occurred at the Bin Qasim power plant. The issue has also been advertised by the power company in several daily publications. Due to this additional shortfall, loadshedding in the city is being temporarily increased by two to three hours. KE extends its apologies for the inconvenience caused to consumers.
The company has also made an appeal to its consumers; to use and conserve electricity more cautiously. Consumers should avoid the unnecessary use of lights and electronic appliances. This will help provide maximum relief to all areas. KE customers can find out the loadshedding schedule for their areas by sending an SMS to 8119 (registered users) or by contacting the company through KE’s social media platforms.
