‘Syllabus revision under way’
Islamabad: The class I-V curriculum has been revised, while work is underway for the revision of class 6-8 syllabus.
This was stated by Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Muhammad Balighur Rehman during a meeting with the office-bearers of the Pakistan Teachers United Front at his office here on Thursday.
The minister welcomed the visitors and discussed with them matters related to education, especially the teachers' development. He said teachers had a very prominent role in the development of a society.
The minister said teachers must be given respect, as no society could progress without giving respect to teacher. He said the government had taken a number of steps for the promotion of education in the country.
"The curriculum from class I-V has been revised and the work is underway for the revision of syllabus from class 6-8," he said. The minister said the character-building, activity- based learning and civic education had been emphasised in the revised curriculum.
