Lower courts remain suspended due to demise of Judge Ahmed Saba
Activities at the city’s courts remained suspended on Wednesday due to the unexpected demise of District and Sessions Judge of Umerkot, Ahmed Saba.
The deceased judge was on his way to court when he suffered a heart attack, and was taken to Civil Hospital, Umerkot, where he was pronounced dead. Saba’s funeral will be held in Tando Adam, where his body was taken by his nephews Waqas Arain and Khalid Arain.
The late judge, who was 57 years old, had earlier been working as District and Sessions Judge Malir, East and South. Soon after the news of his demise reached lawyers of the Karachi Bar Association and Malir Bar Association, court functions were immediately suspended. Courts also remained closed as a result, and office bearers alongside senior lawyers expressed their grief over Saba’s death. Tributes also poured in to honour the services of the deceased judge.
