ISLAMABAD: The unabated persecution of former Prime Minister and lifetime Quaid of ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and his party was the major subject of discussion among the guests at reception hosted by Ambassador of Argentine Ivan Ivanissevich at Serena Hotel on Wednesday evening.

It was part of commemoration of 208th anniversary of the first national government in Argentine. The guests were surprised that instead of taking notice of baseless allegations hurled against country’s most popular leader and former prime minister of Pakistan, certain responsible people are engaged in highlighting and disseminating such allegations.

A diplomat belonging to a western country posed question to a group of guests that if PTI chairman Imran Khan couldn’t succeed in securing enough seats in the Parliament in the wake of upcoming polls despite all tactics, will he launch yet another agitation in the county? A Russian diplomat was confiding with a fellow guest that an eminent judicial personality of Pakistan is visiting his country early next week while the same personality will subsequently visit to China as well.

Another important topic of discussion among the guests was about decision of US President Donald Trump for parting ways with the nuclear deal with Iran. The guests were divided on the subject as envoys of the Arab countries were supporting the decision of US President while some guests termed it an unwise decision.

State Minister Engineer Muhammad Balighur Rehman was the chief guest who performed the cake cutting ceremony and the national anthems of the two countries were played before that.
