PTDC chief discusses tourism matters with national security adviser

Islamabad : Pakistan Tourism Managing Director Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor Khan met National Security Adviser, Lt General (r) Nasser Janjua. In the meeting, the steps taken regarding the promotion of tourism in the country and other matters were discussed.

Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor told that due to improvement in peace and security in Pakistan, tourists' confidence has been restored and a large number of domestic and foreign tourists last year visited tourist areas of Pakistan. In this regard negotiations with the local and foreign investors are underway to provide maximum facilities to the tourists, so that accommodation and infrastructure facilities can be set up under Public Private Partnership programs. New and modern travel facilities will be set up across Pakistan including Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad. Training programs will be organized to provide professional and skilled manpower in the tourism sector. Beach resorts are being constructed along the coastal highly. After foreign affairs, tourism is the only sector that can bring nations closer and make the relations between nations better.

Talking about his recent visit to Iran, Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor, briefed the adviser that he met Deputy Governor of the province Khorasan Rizvi, Hamid Mousavi who stated that the Muslim Brotherhood countries further promote bilateral relations under the aegis of OIC. Tourism cooperation will help ensuring provision of better facilities to the tourists.
