HYDERABAD: DIG Police Dr Jamil Ahmed Khan has said that 350 police recruits would undergo training in counter terrorism as part of the long-term plans of upgrading the combat skills of cops.
Speaking at the passing out parade of 1,085 police constables and 37 lady police constables at the Police Training Centre here on Wednesday, the DIG said the government was taking steps to ensure that the police force were trained with the modern policing skills.
Talking to media after the ceremony, the DIG acknowledged that payment of salary to the recruits could not be started so far. However, the Home Secretary Sindh would soon approve the payment of salaries, he added.
The Centre’s Principal SSP Nisar Ahmed Broshi said the centre lacked various facilities including buses for travel from the centre to the city and doctors for the medical needs. He said that the centre was based in Badin and it was shifted to Hyderabad in March, 2014.
