CHAKDARA: Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) belonging to the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Bakht Baidar on Friday announced to quit the party and join the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
Bakht Baidar would formally join the PPP during a public meeting in presence of the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah in Chakdara on May 9.He announced the decision after holding a consultation meeting with his supporters from Ouch, Chakdarra, Khadgazai, Tazagram and Kotigram held at the Fishing Hut here. His supporters seconded his decision and assured him of their full support.
Speaking on the occasion, Bakht Baidar said that to come up to the expectations of the people of his/her constituency elect and carry out development work there was always the priority of a lawmaker.
He said that almost all the government departments came under the control of the federal government, adding he was mulling for quite some time to join a national mainstream political party to solve the problems of the people of his constituency elect. “I was assessing and weighing my options to join a national level party to serve the people of my constituency elect in a more effective manner,” he added.
Bakht Baidar said the QWP was a provincial level party and that was why he decided to join the PPP in the best interest of the people of his constituency elect. “I am glad that you, my supporters, accepted my decision and supporting me in this regard,” he added.
His brother Latifur Rehman, president nazims alliance of eight union councils of Adenzai tehsil Abdul Rehman, others included Muhammad Zubair, Umar Khitab and Muhammad Israr also spoke on the occasion.They took the oath to remain loyal to Bakht Baidar and stood with him through thick and thin. They hoped he would retain his constituency elect in the forthcoming general election.
